Corner Irish Whip?

Corner Irish Whip?
I am toying with the idea of adding in corner Irish whips to allow for corner moves. The way it would work is when you are locked up and in the right position in the ring you can push the run button and diagonal to whip the opponent into the corner.

This will require two new irish whip animations along with a diagonal running animation for each character. Attached is the first frame of the original irish whip then two new frames of a corner irish whip. One from the front and one from the back.

Thoughts?

I remember this from an SNES game, could be raw. It would interesting but I'm trying to think of what moves can be done when the opp. is in the corner:

-stinger Splash (Sting)
-body Avalanche (Yokozuna, Vader, Earthquake, Typhoon, Andre, Nash)

This are the ones that com too mind.

Stinger Splash is the one I was thinking of.

But it also opens up corner grapple moves as well.

This would be used to run up to the top two corners:

Actually, just got one down.

We are working on when the opponent hits the turn buckle now and is then in the prone state leaning against the corner. Also working on if the player charges the corner and no one is home. Then we will work on corner grapples.

Personally i would have concentrated on building the new playable characters into the existing game before changing any of the fundamental mechanics of the game.

To me, the timelessness of Wrestlefest is its simplicity....from the character design, to the button mashing controls, and the horizontal gameplay,
I have never played it and felt like the lack of diagonal action is detremental to the game.

How would the collision mechanism work when there are more than 2 people in the ring? Or if one of the other players were to do a backdrop move while the opponent was running towards the turnbuckle? Surely you would also need to create new diagonal counter moves against running oponents such as the backdrop/clothesline/knee to gut etc?

Actually pretty sure he is just mimicking WWF Superstars which has diagonal options for walk and run.
The only thing new per say is the turnbuckle moves.I think they are awesome and should have been in original game.

I hear ya on not changing the classic game play. I am just toying with it. That is a good point about royal rumble mode though. We will have to see how it plays and we can see if it is better or worse.

I will have to go back and play super stars as I do not remember being able to run diagonal.
